This book was the latest installment of the "night tale" series featuring the same characters. This story revolves around Police Commissioner Boyd Fletcher's daughter, Ally, and Jonah Blackhawk. Jonah was a former troubled youth changed by Boyd who took him under his wing. Because of his past life, his relationship with Boyd, and his belief that he will never be good enough for Ally, Jonah determines to stay away from her. But when Ally, a detective, seeks to break up a home invasion/robbery ring, Jonah allows her to work undercover at his club and a love/hate relationship develops. Jonah is tough, yet a sweetheart to his friends; Ally is dedicated, but slow to trust. It was fun to touch base with the other "night tale" characters and see how the years have treated them. a re-read. love Nora
Great Nora Roberts at her best - again I suggest listening to the 5 books in order since they tie together.
This is not my favorite but it is in the top twenty and that is saying a lot as I've read over a hundred of hers. i've read this one three times. It's a real page turner. Allow yourself some time as you will not want to put it down.
Enjoyed the story thoroughly. A fun, suspenseful read.
Vintage Nora Roberts before she began to delve in to supernatural demonic story lines and ones that involve graphic images of violence and gore. This one is just a good old fashion love story-boy meets girl, boy gets girl. It is part of a series and these are just two characters in the series. The other books in the series are equally good.
The worst part is the Typos throughout the ebook , not the story . I have been very unhappy with more than one of these books because of Typos . Very annoying . It seems to be the older releases ... Not good . If you are going to sell it , make it worth reading without trying to figure out what word you are supposed to be reading .
Allison is a newly promoted detective. Jonah was a tough street kid who grew up to be an upstanding owner of multiple successful night clubs. Jonah gives credit for his success due in a part because of the interest of Allison's father in him when he was young and on the path of a con-artist/pick pocket. Allison and Jonah are on a collision course for love in this nail biter thriller. Very well written. You won't be able to put this book down. I know I couldn't. Enjoy!
