Long ago, a violent war erupted between the Children of the Nephilim, who had once taken Eve's daughters as wives, and the Pure of Heart. The Nephilim's thirst for revenge rages through history as they slowly infiltrate global corporations, secret societies and international politics. The goal is total domination.

Cordy McDermott isn't your typical veterinarian - unless your veterinarian also happens to have a black belt in karate. After rescuing an Egyptian princess from being sold as a sex slave, Cordy finds herself in the crosshairs of death, tangled in a harrowing battle dating to Biblical times.

Across the world, a young, brawny archeologist stumbles upon an ancient relic at the Egyptian temple of Abu Simbel after a mysterious dream. On the run, Ash and Cordy team up in a thrilling race against time to keep balance from falling in favor of an enemy bent on vengeance and absolute control.

The story is pretty good, but the book needs the help of a professional editor. The authors contradict themselves repeatedly, sometime within the same paragraph, paragraphs have sentence after sentence that seem to have no relation to the one before, and things are repeated in multiple places. I highly recommend against starting this book unless it has been substantially revised.

This is one of the worst books I've read in a long time. The writing is disjointed and juvenile with long sections of trivia that were at best marginally related to the storyline. There were internal contradictions as if the writers didn't remember what they'd written a chapter or two earlier. The dialogue often made no sense for what the writers had the characters thinking. I struggled through it but for the life of me, I don't know why.
I came very, very close to dumping this book after the first 10 chapters. I couldn't figure out where in the blue blazes the story was going and why it was taking so long to get there. I finally got to the part where it started making sense, but it wasn't much more interesting than before. I really like stories about ancient Egypt and battles of good vs evil, but this particular one had a hard time holding my attention. There was a lot of unneeded trivia and repetitious explanations, but I found the plot buried there good enough to keep me coming back. I'm just glad I finally got all the way through.
The story is ok, but the book needs the help of a professional editor. Lots of blending of catholic dogma, Egyptian myths and other religious beliefs thrown in...made the story very confusing, especially since these same myths were told and retold through every personage in the book. The authors contradict themselves repeatedly, sometime within the same paragraph. Lots of grammatical errors, punctuation errors, run-on paragraphs, sentences that have no relation to the previous one, and repetition, repetition, repetition! I have the second book and was going to read it to see if the story was going to improve, then I saw that a 3rd book was just released with a price of $5.99 for . NOPE! I do not recommend this series.
Another battle in the ongoing war between the Nephilim and the Pure of Heart that started with Adam and Eve and has been waged through the millenia. This could have been a great story of the struggle between the forces of light and of darkness to gain control of the earth. The authors' attempts to compare similarities in differing religions and mythologies is an interesting study. But, the book falls completely short of expectations. The sentences are short and choppy, making for disjointed and difficult reading. It completely lacks transitions between ideas, and jumps awkwardly and unexpectedly between them. It reads like a first raw draft and feels unfinished.

Advice to the author take a creative writing course, they are offered at all community colleges; get a thesaurus; study up on grammar and punctuation.

I dislike giving bad reviews, but, in this case, it's necessary.
Overall, I enjoyed this book but agree with others that it would be far better with some good editing. Sentences were inserted into paragraphs where they had no reference point and the repetition of some information almost felt like it was being copied from one section and pasted into another.
That said, the story was interesting and the plot and characters were engaging (though at one point I felt like all of the clichés from archaeological thrillers were being piled into one book!)
I am disappointed that the other books in the trilogy have not been published as I had gotten used to the writing style and was looking forward to the continuation of the story. Guess I'll just have to wait and hope that more time is given to editing the book BEFORE it is published.
I wanted to like this book. I really did. The story line itself is okay, but there is a serious lack of editorial continuity that is distracting. The editing appears to have been done by friends and family -- not professionals. And the writing itself... Awkward, clumsy, halted, and lumbering are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind. I often felt like I was reading a story written by a high school student who would pick up the project after weeks or months of it having been left in the drawer to collect dust, having forgotten what was already written, and just trying to write some more. Let it collect dust.
The story is pretty good, but the book needs the help of a professional editor. The authors contradict themselves repeatedly, sometime within the same paragraph, paragraphs have sentence after sentence that seem to have no relation to the one before, and things are repeated in multiple places.
